A quite good initiative by Times of India (TOI), called Lead India to create a true leader and politician. I was very much inspired by it. It is a very unique, quite inspiring and thought provoking initiative. This was my opinion before and at the beginning of the program.
But, as the program started few things made me really upset. Some of those that I am going to mention here have been stressed by TOI itself in its newspaper once upon a time. But, now they are doing the same mistake which they identified in the existing system.
- To select the candidates, they asked the people to vote through sms. They came up with code for each candidate so that sms votes can be grouped among the respective candidates. But, SADLY they did not provided the option to vote NO BODY. Yes, I meant "NO BODY". It represents that a person who wants to vote did not like any of the candidates.
This will show us the weightage of the candidatures among the public, selected to contend in the program.
If vote for "NO BODY" is more than the votes voted for individuals candidates, then all the candidates have to be dropped of the program and a new set of candidates have to be picked up again.
