I am basically from Bangalore but did not had gas connection till now due to non-availability of proper place to keep one. Now, I have moved to new house in Jayanagar and want to get a gas connection. Since, ration card is mandatory and had old address in ration card, government gas agency did not gave me gas connection. So, I got the address changed in ration card and got a new one after 2 months of process from chamrajpet food department. Now, when I approached Indane gas agency (Thilaknagar), they told a new process which they initially did not tell me:-
1. Person on whose name the Ration card has been issued should come to their office
2. After paying the fee, they will give some number (connection no.)
3. We should then go to Food department with that number and get it printed on to ration card -> which inturn means canceling the just got ration card and get a new one again
4. Then, provide the zerox of that new ration card to Indane gas agency
5. and next day the gas will be in the house
The service and response of that gas agency and Food Department is good. I was astonished to find such a service in a government office (food dept.). Usually our perception over a government office will be non-cooperative, rude, tortoise's progress, lazy and finally not people(citizen's) friendly.
