I received an forward email from my colleague which speaks about NGO called Prerana (supported by Infosys foundation). They are offering financial help to bright students those have passed 10th Std with >80% and coming from poor financial background.
The email content goes like this:

If you have come across any bright students coming from poor financial background who have finished their 10th standard this year and scored more than 80%, please ask them to contact the NGO - Prerana (supported by Infosys foundation).
The NGO is conducting a written test and those who clear the test will be eligible for financial help for their further studies.
Please ask the students to contact the people mentioned below to get the form:
580, Shubhakar, 44th cross, 1st A main road, Jayanagar, 7th block, Bangalore.

Even if you don't know anyone, please pass on this info, someone might be in need of this help.
Googled around for more information on it and found interesting details:
1) This kind of drive is being run from 2009 by Prerana
2) Phone numbers and name of the people to contact are all same
3) Few of them have reported that phone numbers are not working
We should note one thing that there are no dates specified in the above email and hence, drive could have been over long time, etc....
But, a good news is that an helpful person named "Jyothi" has provided proper latest details on another blog on May 18, 2011 by contacting Prerana via email.
Important points to note:
1) Exam date is May 29, 2011
2) This drive is applicable for only Bangalore Urban Students
3) Check the list of documents that you need to carry in Jyothi's comment below.

These msg and numbers looks like fooling others through a mail.Not even a single number is working. i poke to saraswati she is quite rude and said she doesn't know anything regarding the mail. please try to do good thing for those in need.

We support only Bangalore Urban students. The student has to undergo a qualifying test which is on 29th of May, 2011. Let the parents of the students come and meet us at the below said address. They need to carry few documents with them while coming, Such as
1) Student SSLC Marks card copy
2) Student Parents salary certificate
3) Parents ID proof such as Voters ID, Ration Card, Electricity bill etc.,
4) House rent or Lease agreement.
